About Deepak Chopra
Deepak Chopra (born October 22, 1946 in New Delhi) is an Indian-American author and physician.
He is known for promoting alternative medicine among many people from different countries.
Chopra studied medicine in India. He immigrated to the United States in 1970 to specialize in endocrinology and endocrinology. He completed his medical studies in the United States at the University of Virginia and has taught at Tufts University and Boston University.
In 1980 he became Chief of Staff at NEW England Memorial Hospital (NEMH).
In 1985, Maharishi met the Yogi and became interested in the Transcendental Meditation (TM) movement. He later quit his job at the hospital and established the Maharishi Ayurveda Health Center.
In 1993, he gained fans after an interview with him about his books on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
He later left the transcendental dynamic and became the executive director of Sharp HealthCare’s Center, a center for physical and mental medicine.
In 1996, he co-founded the Chopra Center for Living Well.
Deepak Chopra has written more than 40 books, and their topics range from spirituality to health. He has also written several novels and collections of spiritual poetry from India and Iran.
