Description

The Autumn of the Patriarch is one of the famous works of the prominent Colombian author Gabriel Garcia Marquez, which took almost 7 years to write. This amazing novel, like other works by Marquez, follows the method of magical realism.

The Autumn of the Patriarch audiobook is about an old general who has about 5,000 illegitimate children. He lives alone and in solitude in a dilapidated palace in that filth and animal waste. He still rules a small country with the same cruelty, oppression and crime.

The old general is also an innovator for his own atrocities and crimes and perversions. At parties and ceremonies, no one even dares to breathe in his presence. In addition to the people and those around him, even his first-degree relatives have not been spared from his cruelty and crime.
A dictator whose father is not known and who is madly in love with his mother, and after his death he is ridiculously elevated to the status of a saint among the people, and in his troubles his mother is called as if they are calling on God.

The dictator at the beginning of his rule is a beloved, holy and respected person who is directly present among his people. Little by little, a lot of power and authoritarianism come together, and eventually he is given full power, and the contact with reality is completely cut off, and he begins to be alone.

His dictatorial temperament makes him commit a crime. The dictator’s autumn begins when there is a coup against him and he does not see the people with him. He also has imitations, which in some cases are imitations that are present in some places.

Critics consider the authoritarian fall to be Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s best work and more than a hundred years of solitude. According to Max Paul Fouche, “Despite the characters and the tropical density of events and images, the reader is immersed in it, and the story is stronger and more admirable than the reader can free himself from it.”

“Man imagines a kind of Amazon river flood that reminds animals and birds of green trees.” Autumn is an authoritarian novel written eight years after Marquez’s original masterpiece, One Hundred Years Alone. This novel, like a hundred years alone, is written in the style of magical realism. Some consider this novel to be Marquez’s best work.

Marquez himself says of this work: “Literally my most important book is The Autonomous Autumn.” “This work, which I always wanted to write, saved me from anonymity and I worked for more than seven years to create it.”

Marquez also says of the dictator’s loneliness: “The more one gains power, the more difficult it becomes to determine who is with him and who is with him. When he reaches full power, his contact with reality is completely cut off, and this is the worst kind of loneliness.

A dictator, a very authoritarian person, is surrounded by interests and people whose goal is to completely separate him from the facts. Everything goes hand in hand to complete his loneliness.

The form and structure of the writing of this brilliant Marquez work, which constantly changes the point of view and the narrator, requires a silent performance for the characters that meets the author’s goal so that the conscious and punctual audience can discover the rhythm and theme of the work. On the other hand, in the performance, a tone in harmony with the frankness and violence of the novel theme has been chosen.

In an excerpt from the autobiographical autumn book, we hear:

The dictator’s mother is dead, the body was taken to the least known corners of the country so that no one would be deprived of the privilege of honoring his memory.

It was taken to train stations on high plains with special ribbons waving black ribbons, where it was greeted with the same sad music and the same sad crowd that came on other glorious days to hide with the ruler in the semi-dark. Meet the presidential carriage.

The body was displayed in the convent of the benevolent sisters, in which a hard-working displaced birdwatcher gave birth to a fatherless son who became king …

As the makeup was removed and the paraffin was melted in the heat and the skin was wrinkled, the body was rebuilt in secret sessions. During the rainy season, mold was removed from his eyelids. Mrs. Army’s tailors kept her funeral clothes in order;

It looks like it was covered only yesterday. They kept a wreath of orange flowers in a pleasant state, as well as a wedding lace mask that he had never worn in his life: “Let no one forget who will rule over the sand dunes along the forest, even in the most desolate settlements, until the end of time.”

The ice melted. The salt melted and the corpse was inflated, floating in a soup of sawdust. He had not yet laughed. “On the contrary, General.
Because at that time we saw that he opened his eyes and we saw the pupils of his eyes that were shiny and had the January color of January and their usual shape like moonlit stones, and even the most incredible among us, had seen that the coffin glass was covered with steam. His breath became dull and we saw signs of life and fragrant sweat coming from the pores of his body … We saw the deaf and dumb bewildered by their own cries: Miracle, miracle, they are confused. “They broke the glass of the coffin, Mr. General, they almost tore the body to pieces and took it for blessing …”

Convinced of this evidence, he came out of his aura of mourning. Pale, stubborn, and came out with a black armband. He decided to be inspired by all the sources of his power in order to achieve holiness for his mother, as a saint, based on numerous evidences of his status ….
