Description

Introducing the book status anxiety
Status Anxiety, originally published in 2004, addresses the psychological aspects of social status. Situational anxiety is a 21st century phenomenon. This is the result of capitalism, democracy and the new form of human life. This phenomenon is more evident in countries where the income gap is high.

Human life underwent many changes after the Industrial Revolution.

Human maps were redefined and man moved away from traditional life. Value systems changed and the criteria for measuring human beings took on a new form.

Many thinkers have tried for years to find a balance between tradition and modernity for human beings. The advancement of technology and the expansion of the human world and the increase of its connection also caused human beings to be judged in more situations.

This is both a personal and a social judgment. The combination of these changes had important consequences: modern man bears additional psychological pressure than his predecessors. Alain Dubatten’s book Anxiety Status deals with this issue in great detail.

About the book status anxiety

In Anxiety, Alain Dubatten examines the situation of this emerging phenomenon and explains its causes and roots. This book is written in two main chapters. At the beginning of the book, Alain Dobaton prepares the subject for the subject with an introduction to the subject and defines the anxiety of the situation.

Then, in the first chapter of the book, called “Causes of Lack of Love”, he deals with the root causes of stress and anxiety in modern man. He introduces the new definition of success as one of the most important causes of human anxiety. According to Dubaten, since the eighteenth century, three new narratives of success have emerged that have fueled human anxiety and worry:

1. The rich are the people to eat, not the poor.
2. Position and position means moral validity.
3- The poor are sinful and corrupt and have fallen into the abyss of poverty due to their stupidity.
He deals with all human dependencies, from human to economic and social, and examines issues in detail. At the end of this chapter, the reader can get a complete view of all the issues that are causing the situation anxiety.

In the second chapter, Alain Dubaton shows his solutions. He offers solutions in the contexts of philosophy, art, politics, and religion and bohemianism. Dubaten has given examples of great men in various fields and has carefully analyzed their circumstances. He also asks man to rid himself of many stereotypes and to look at many new issues.

In part of the book Anxiety Situation we read:

… It is only fair criticism that can question our credibility. Before we even ask ourselves if personal opinions are worth listening to at all, we must stop the process of self-harm in which we always seek his approval and consent. A process by which we seek the love of those whom we have found, after examining their behavior, who have not cherished us as they should.

We may despise the hatred of others just as they have humiliated us, and we may find ourselves in a position of elusiveness to which the history of the flesh is replete.
In the words of Schopenhauer, who is a prime example of philosophical anthropomorphism: “When we realize the absurdity and superficiality of the thoughts of others, the weakness of their beliefs, the lowliness of their emotions, their irrational opinions and their innumerable errors, we will gradually become oblivious to what is going on in their minds. “It is then that we realize that anyone who overestimates the opinions of others has overestimated them.”

In the book Summary and Adaptation, Schopenhauer states that nothing accelerates the healing process of others ‘desire to be loved, such as an overview of others’ true personalities. “In every country, the predominant entertainment of the nation has been playing cards,” he said insultingly. “This can be a touchstone on the value of society and a sign of the complete collapse of its ideas and thoughts.” The card players themselves are often vicious:

“Al-Haqq is a fitting term for some evil people in this world.” And worse than that are the people who are not evil but simple fools.

In another part of the book, we read about situation anxiety:

There was a third story to alleviate the hardships of poverty and low social status. According to this narrative, which had its greatest impact almost between 1754 and 1989, the poor were reminded that the rich were thieves and corrupt and had gained privilege through plunder and deception, not through virtue and talent. In addition, they have equipped society in such a way that the poor can never personally increase their wealth. No matter how capable and determined they are, their only hope is social protests and revolutions.

Jean-Jacques Rousseau wrote one of the first notes of this story in his book Debate on the Roots of Inequality (1754): Be that as it may, he is the true founder of civil society.

Whether crimes, wars, murders, misfortunes and horrors were removed from the human race, if someone pulled out the fences and filled the ditches and shouted to his comrades: Do not listen to this deceiver. “If you forget that the fruits of the earth belong to everyone and the earth does not belong to anyone, you will really fail!”
One hundred years later, Karl Marx shouted the same thing. He put it in seemingly scientific terms, saying that what Rousseau had in his hand was a cry for social protest. According to Marx, there is an inherently exploitative movement in the capitalist system, because employers always try to hire workers with wages lower than the income they themselves earn from the sale of products, and then pocket this difference in cost as a “profit”. To do. Such a profit has always been hailed in capitalist newspapers as an employer’s reward for its “risk-taking” and “investment”; But Marx insisted that these words were only beautiful expressions for theft.
