Description

Bill’s mourners are about the constant misery of a rural man named Bill. It is worth mentioning that Bill’s Mourners was reprinted twelve times from 1340 to 356, and after many years, it is still considered a readable work that has created a special current in itself; As Shamlou says about it: “We have the mourners of Bill from Saedi, who I believe is the pioneer of Gabriel Garcia Marquez”, also from the point of view of Jamal Mirsadeghi, who is a writer and literary critic, the source of inspiration Gholam Hossein Saedi Written by Bill Mourners, the book “The Red Death Mask” was written by Edgar Allan Poe.

Gholam Hossein Saedi known as Gohar Morad is one of the greatest contemporary Iranian writers and the author of this book. This book contains eight short stories published by Negah Publishing.

This work is a collection of eight interconnected stories about a rural man named Bill, who suffers from poverty and misery. The people of these villages are ordinary and illiterate people, superstitions are rampant in this village, and people resort to magic and superstition to cure the pains and diseases and the severe famine that they are struggling with.
Some characters are fixed and are repeated in all eight stories, each with a different character symbol. The mourners of Bill have a prose of Shiva and Silis, and the shortness of the sentences and dialogues has given the story a rhythm and a sharp beat. Jamal Mirsadeghi considers Saedi as the source of inspiration for these stories, the book “Red Death Mask” written by Edgar Allan Poe. The atmosphere of the story is dark and bitter, and Saedi has preferred to be the sole narrator of the work and maintain his neutrality. This work has been reprinted twelve times so far and is still considered a readable work.
