Description

Make your bed
The book “Make Your Bed” is written by General William H. McRaven. The author of the book Arrange the Bed: Although I was a graduate of the same university, I did not know that a war general who had spent his career in the war would be well received by college students.

But I was very surprised to see those who eagerly came to listen to my lectures. The ten lessons I learned in naval training that formed the basis of my talk seemed to have caught the attention of many. I learned these simple lessons and experiences in naval training, and all ten lessons are equally important in the face of life’s challenges, and it does not matter what stage of your life you are in or what your place in society is.

Over the past three years, people on the street have repeatedly come up to me to tell me their story. They all wanted to know more about how these ten lessons shaped my life, and they wanted to get to know the people who inspired my career. This little book is an attempt to do this important. Each chapter contains a short text that contains one of these lessons.

“I hope you enjoy reading this book!”

In part of the book we read:
“It does not matter your gender, religious or ethnic background, mental orientation or social status. “In this world, our problems are similar, and the lessons we learn to overcome these problems and move forward apply equally to changing ourselves and the world around us.”

Arrange the Bed Bed book with the original title Make Your Bed by Admiral William H. Macrion – a retiree of the US Navy – who points out small but important points and believes that it may change your life and even the world.

Commander William H. Macrion proudly served in the military and has served at all levels of command for 37 years as a Special Naval Unit. He is currently the President of the University of Texas Systems and his book was one of the New York Times bestsellers in 2017.

Make Your Bed book contains ten short lessons that the admiral has learned in naval exercises and forms the basis of the book. In each chapter, he summarizes a lesson alongside memories of training, service, and combat operations. Macurion says in the introduction to the book:
I learned these simple lessons and experiences in naval training, and all ten lessons are equally important in the face of life’s challenges, and it does not matter what stage of your life you are in or what your place in society is.

Each chapter contains a short text that contains one of these lessons, as well as a short story about a man who was inspired by his discipline, perseverance, honor, and courage.

The points and contents stated in this book may at first glance be simple and very similar to the contents of success books. But the main difference between this book and its points is that Macrorion himself has observed all these points and lived with them. They are not just fascinating professions written in a comfortable place.
For example, when Macurion says in the second chapter that “you can not do it alone,” he literally touches on this issue and in a terrible incident that happened to him, if he were alone, he would never have done it.

William H. In 2014, to celebrate the graduation of the students of the University of Texas, Macurion also presented the book in the form of a lecture, which received much attention. The text of this speech is also at the end of the book. Finally, I suggest that if you are looking for a small, well-read and effective book that is a flip for you, be sure to read the book Make Your Bed.

Arrange the contents of your bed book
As mentioned earlier, this book is written in ten chapters. In the following, we will review the main and sub-titles of a number of chapters along with a part of the same chapter.

Chapter One: Do not leave today’s work to tomorrow
If you want to change the world, start from your bed.

Getting my bed right did not give me a chance to be rewarded, because that was what was expected of me. This was my first task every day and it was very important to do it right. It showed discipline and attention to detail, and at the end of the day it reminded me that I had done a good job; Something to be proud of, albeit a very small one.

Chapter Two: You Can’t Do It Alone
If you want to change the world badly, find someone to help you paddle.

None of us is safe from the painful moments of life. Like that little rowing boat that formed the basis of our naval training, we all need to have a good group of people by our side to get to the destination of life. You can not paddle alone. Find someone to share your life with. Make friends as much as possible and never forget that your success depends on others.

Chapter 6: You have to have a lot of courage
If you want to change the world, go head to head with obstacles.

The army lieutenant colonel in charge of the liberation mission informed me that they had to carry out a dangerous attack during the day. Worst of all, the only way to successfully land three rescue helicopters was through that small area.

We talked about other tactical options, but the colonel was right; If you have a chance to surprise the enemy, it is better to carry out rescue operations at night, but this time it was not, and if we did not move, the hostages would be displaced or killed.

I confirmed the mission, and within minutes, the rescue squadron dispatched three Black Falcon helicopters and were stationed on the way to the hostage-taking area.

Chapter 8: Get in the right position
If you want to change the world, be your best friend in the darkest moments.

With the crash of the CV-22 and the death of the pilot and several crew members, officers from the same unit gathered together and paid their respects to go to heaven the next day – aware that their downed brothers wanted to go to heaven and their mission. Continue.

Summarize the main message of the bed book:
Remember ن do not leave today’s work to tomorrow. Find someone to help you in life. Respect everyone. Know that life is not always what you want it to be and that sometimes you fail. But take the risk, be strong in the face of adversity, face the bullying, lift the losers and never give up – if you do, you can change your life for the better… and maybe even the world!

Arrange the bed on the back cover of the book:
We all know that life is hard and exhausting; But sometimes doing the basics can have a life-changing effect. A very simple act like making a bed can also have the amazing motivation to start a day and give us the inner satisfaction to end a good day. To change the world, tidy up your bed first.

“On May 17, 2014, I had the honor of speaking at the University of Texas Student Graduation Ceremony in Austin,” the author states in the book’s introduction. Although I was a graduate of the same university, I did not know that a war general who had spent his career in the war would be well received by college students.

But I was very surprised to see those who eagerly came to listen to my lectures. The ten lessons I learned in naval training that formed the basis of my talk seemed to have caught the attention of many.

Is changing the world and improving it your concern? Have you ever wondered how you can make an impact and make the world an even better place to live? You may be disappointed with the greatness of this thought and say to yourself that I have a very small share of the world and it is impossible for me to have a particle of influence in this great world. Or you may think that you must do something extraordinary and great to be able to change the world.

The main point of the book
The author of this book, Admiral William McRaven, in 10 separate chapters, has taught 10 important lessons that he has learned during his life on the waves of the sea. He delivered these lessons in a very moving and motivating speech at the University of Texas graduation ceremony in 2014.

In this book, McRaven talks about the importance of doing simple, small things like tidying up your bed consistently and committedly, embracing your fears, and changing the world that way.

To change the world, it is enough to do small and simple things. Just do it.

The book’s subtitle is: Little Things That Can Change Your Life and Maybe the World. You have to think about how change is happening in the world. The world is formed from these small works of human beings and bit by bit.

So it is enough for these particles to gradually change for the better in order for the world to become a better place to live for future generations. The basics in this book are gathered together to help us and the world around us get better. 10 principles that helped William McRaven face his personal and professional challenges.

Part of the book
Excerpts from the Admiral’s speech in this book, which is also given in the book, are as follows:

If you want to change the world, start with your bed. Doing this small task in the early morning will give you a little sense of pride and prepare you for the next task. In this way, things will be done one after another.

Arranging the bed has the message that small things are important. If you can not do a small job well, you may not be able to do a great job well.

Even if you do not have a good day, when you get home you will find a tidy bed that you have made yourself. This simple issue motivates you.

If there is one thing I have learned in my travels, it is nothing but the power of hope. The hope that gave Washington, Lincoln, Mandela, or even a Pakistani girl named Malala, strength and power. Every human being can change the world by giving hope to others. So if you want to change the world, do something every day.

Excerpts from the book:
If you ring the bell, you no longer need to swim in cold water for a long time.

At some point in life, we all experience a moment of darkness. If this is not the moment to lose someone you love, then something else will break your spirits and make you think about life. In that dark and cold moment, turn to yourself and be your best. Without courage, you will be overshadowed by the temptations of life. Without courage, human beings will be dominated by tyrants and dictators.
