In a part of the book, we read love and a lie
Hearing his name, Roger tore his nap and came out of that semi-conscious, drowsy state, realizing that he must have slept for a few hours. When Roger Buchanan lay down in a comfortable chair on the hotel porch, the sun was shining brightly on his face and the whisper of the sea waves was caressing his ears, but now when he opened his eyes the air was dark and the breeze was cold. Suddenly, a young and passionate voice broke the silence and said: – I consider people like Mr. Buchanan to be complacent and unbearable. He changed and drank champagne every night with dinner.

The audience laughed softly in response and resumed the speaker’s insulting song with a world of disgust:
But his brother’s wife, whoever wears such expensive clothes and puts diamonds on her shoes, looks beautiful. To wear then it would be clear. This morning we accidentally entered the elevator together and I greeted her and instead of answering, she rolled her eyes and stared at me as if looking at the dirt. The audience, named Katie, laughed and said in a soft tone:

– This woman is not capable of all this fuss, Sicily, I’m sure she’m jealous of you being so young and beautiful. If you look closely, you will see that all her beauty is oil and paint, she is at least forty years old!
– I know, and yet she looks like a schoolgirl to Mr. Buchanan. Ah! I wish we had not come here at all, at first I thought it would make us happy, but Katie Jan, the truth is that we do not fit in with this environment, someone like us who have collected money and money so that we can only pay our bills on the last day. No, I wish we had gone to the “market” like last year, one has to have countless money, a bunch of different clothes and jewelry, then come to such hotels, I’m sure the hotel staff also knows what a poor fabric we are and how they treat us until The Buchanan family is a different world.
