Description

Band of the Convicts is one of the most brilliant works of Kayhan Khanjani, which was able to bring many awards to this author.
The Convicts’ Ward won the title of the best Iranian novel of the year in the 7th Festival of Experience Magazine and the best novel of 2017 selected by the Ahmad Mahmoud Award.
“One night a man was released from prison and a girl was thrown inside.”
Peyman Khanjani begins the story of the convicts with an unexpected storm. This book does not narrate the lives of ordinary and everyday people you encounter.

Rather, it is a story about criminals who have gathered with their various personalities in Lakan prison in Rasht.

Although it may seem far-fetched, the love stories that flow through this book cannot be easily overlooked.

In fact, this book, despite its rough appearance and strange situation, is ultimately a love book.

However, this love and gender may seem irrational and in some cases insane to the honest and ordinary everyday reader.

Prose book of convicts
One of the features of this book that makes it an outstanding work is the literature of Kayhan Khanjani. The language of the convicts’ story corresponds perfectly to the prison atmosphere.

The book uses colloquial language in conversations and descriptions.

The use of the Gilaki dialect and proverbs specific to this region, along with the language of humor and bitterness and idioms, are sometimes misunderstood by the factors that distinguish the language of this book.

All these factors are affected by Lakan prison in Rasht as the geographical location of the story.

Summary of the book of the convicts
Lakan Prison is located in the Lakan area of Rasht. As Kayhan Khanjani narrates in the book of the convicts, this prison has 25 rooms and a capacity of 250 prisoners.

The Convicts’ Book depicts the stories of 13 prisoners from rooms 3 and 9 of the prison.

Throughout the story, the life story of these thirteen prisoners is gradually revealed as the reason for their confinement and being together.

In the first chapter of the book of convicts, the author acquaints the audience with the general process of the story and its characters.
The narrator is Emilio Zapata, who, after introducing himself and the story of his imprisonment, introduces each of the prisoners with whom he has contact or interaction.

In general, there are two different rhythms in the story, in one of which Zapata introduces a new and new character, and in the second story line, the actions and behaviors that Zapata interacts with these new characters are narrated.

The first sentence that is said in the introduction of each character of the story is a sentence that quickly and news informs the reader about the loves of that character’s life and acquaints the audience with its complexity and spirits.

Convict binding style
The story of the convicts experiences many climaxes due to the multiplicity of lines and the combination of the past and present narratives of the convicts.

Throughout the work, the author exposes the reader to various information and events and different characters with a very fast rhythm.

For example, before defining the task of all the characters in the story, he inserts an awkward patch into the story: a girl who has been placed in a male prison.

Gradually, towards the end of the story, the characters of the story untie the knot with the connections and behaviors that they have towards this new girl.

A love story in the prison cell
Although in this book we encounter prisons and dangerous criminals, we can not easily ignore the love stories that are going on in the book.

Love and its experience have different colors and shapes for all people. The meaning of love in people who live similarly may be understandable and empathetic, but the idea that a normal reader has of the love of a prisoner criminal and his gender is very strange and far from the mind. Is.

Kayhan Khanjani’s ability to write love stories and feelings of imprisoned criminals shows the power of imagination and imagination of his pen.

Moreover, the placement of these same people in an unusual situation and their reactions to this situation show a higher stage of imagining and recognizing the character.
It is clear that in order to do this, Khanjani needed to know the characters of his story well, to understand their feelings, and to put them in an unnatural position with a correct understanding of their identity.

The Convicts’ Ward is the life story of the criminal class of society.

People who have no hope for a better tomorrow and no one is trying to save them in this situation.

In this book, the author tries to indirectly refer to the social and economic problems that afflict this class.

What if a person like politics does not do wrong? Father? The mother must sleep on one side of her face for the rest of her life.

As a child, half of his face had extra flesh. His family did not have money and education and did not treat him. Enough of being embarrassed at school, he has not attended more than one class, his work has not been straightened out, no girl has even cursed him.

His name was black. His heart was also black. His mind was also black; Be three Barsia.
Mental health model; The medicine pierces the nose. Chris and Tel melt the nose, the pill, the nose, the minaret? What’s wrong, it blows the nose; You do not speak, the nurse hits the nose.
